Team GB sprinter Beth Dobbin was the latest athlete to appear on Sport Buff’s “Meet and Beat” series, discussing her career and Olympic qualification.
The “Meet and Beat” series take an interactive interview format, with viewers being quizzed on their knowledge of the star in question. The winner of each “Meet and Beat” wins a prize!
Dobbin appeared on the show back in June to discuss her road to the Olympics. She reached the semi-finals of the 200m in Tokyo this week and is part of the successful Team GB, who currently sit 6th in the medal table.
Speaking before her qualification, Dobbin said: “This feels like the biggest month of my life.
“It’s come round so quickly, which is mad because obviously, we’ve had lockdown, we’ve had a whole season of everything being postponed and then, before you knew it, the season was upon us.”

Dobbin secured qualification by finishing 2nd in the British Championships, thus making the team for her first-ever Olympics. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it past a very strong semi-final heat, which included 100m champion Thompson-Herah and world leader Gabrielle Thomas.
It was the landmark in what has been a fantastic few years for Dobbin, with plenty more still to come!
